Irenic Breathing and Meditation App

Stina Axelsson –

Technostress is a common problem in our society but how can digital design be used in a positive way to improve the user’s well-being? From this question the breathing and mediation app Irenic emerged, Irenic means aiming or aimed at peace. The app includes both mediations and breathing exercises, both to help the user improve their well-being long term and to also give them an option for a quicker way to calm down. Practicing a breathing exercise can help stop the flight or fight reaction often triggered by stress. The goal with the design is to make it feel like a friend that can bring you happiness and calm. I also worked with the feeling of breathing through movement in the design as the breath is a common focal point of many mindful practices.
